This is the wedding of John and Debbie. They were already married. However, that's not what makes this wedding so different. This wedding is different because Debbie planned the entire wedding (vow renewal) and John had no idea. John simply thought that the family would be having their family photos taken at their special location while at the beach this year.

The story of John and Debbie was shared with me prior to this day,  Debbie said that they had planned to remarry already. John and written a letter to Debbie and placed it in the mailbox at a secluded  location of Sunset Beach called Kindred Spirit.

Oddly, I have been in this area for years and was not even aware that it existed. It is almost a two mile hike that can only be reached by foot. It houses a bench overlooking the ocean with tall sand dunes and sea oats and a simple mailbox that stands tall and proud. This is where visitors come year after year to share stories of (and with) loved ones that have passed and for some to share feelings, etc. of things that have happened in their lives. They simply then place these letters in the mailbox. Others, pull the letters out and read what others have written from the heart.

We hiked to the secluded location yesterday. A wedding however looked as though it was getting ready to take place. We were intruding on a bride and grooms big day. We asked those that were there if they minded if we were to take a few photos by the mailbox as the bride and groom had not yet arrived. They happily honored our request so we quickly placed the family in perfect order and grabbed a few family photos.

I spoke earlier of the letter that John had written to Debbie years prior and placed it too in the mailbox. This letter spoke of her meeting him at the mailbox to remarry him again.  Debbie pulled the letter out of her hand bag that she has kept with her and began to read it to John, with family and friends gathered around, it did not take very long for John to realize that he was in the midst of his own wedding.

~ AB and Jessica Tied the Knot~ Barnwell Wedding

WOW! What a Great wedding. I must tell you that I have spent quite a bit of time getting to know AB and Jessica. The love between the two of them is very evident for everyone to see. Their personalities are very different. Jessica, more quite and reserved but beautiful inside and out!  AB, Well, let's just say he always makes those around him laugh all the time. From his dance moves on his walk up to take his place to say his vows, all the way through the first and last dance that I had the joy of witnessing on their wedding day.

There were several times during the wedding that I had to hold back the tears like watching Jessica and her mom hold hands just before her mom walked her down the long stairway and released her hand to AB. Also, the moment that Jessica's sister, Michelle spoke of the request of the photo to be taken of the chair where their dad would have sat if he would have been alive to share in the union of the two. Of course, then there was the moment that I captured the photo of AB as he first saw his bride standing before him for the first time in her gown of white, knowing that soon she would be his wife.

It was hard to decide which photos to share since there were so many. I have narrowed it down to a few..I hope you will enjoy and will feel like you too where there that day..If you weren't.. what a great wedding that you missed!

Enjoy ..
